Brandy Flip

Cold Brandy Flip

Ingredients

1.5 oz.

Brandy

1 Teaspoon

Powdered Sugar

1

Whole Egg

.5 oz.

Cream (Optional)

Directions

  1. Combine all the Ingredients into a Cocktail Shaker

  2. Dry Shake vigorously for 20 Seconds

  3. Add Ice to Shaker

  4. Wet Shake for 15 Seconds

  5. Strain into a Cocktail Glass or Nick & Nora

  6. Garnish with Grated Nutmeg




Flips are some of the oldest Cocktails, originating in colonial America in the 1600's. They were originally served hot, with Hot Water being used. Flips and Nogs are very similar, the main difference being that Nogs contain Cream. That distinction has faded in time as cream started to be used in Flips.



Hot Brandy Flip

Ingredients

1.5 oz.

Brandy

1 Teaspoon

Powdered Sugar

1

Whole Egg

Hot Water (or Hot Milk)

Directions

  1. Combine the Brandy, Powdered Sugar and Egg in a Cocktail Shaker

  2. Dry Shake for 15 Seconds

  3. Pour into a Mug

  4. Top with Warm Water

  5. Stir till Combined

  6. Garnish with Grated Nutmeg
