Gin Sling

Ingredients

1.5 oz.

Gin

1 oz.

Sweet Vermouth

.5 oz.

.75 oz.

Lemon Juice

2 Dashes

Aromatic Bitters

Soda Water

Directions

  1. Combine the Gin, Vermouth, Simple Syrup, Lemon Juice and Bitters in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice

  2. Shake for 15 Seconds

  3. Strain into a Sling or Collins Glass over Ice

  4. Top with Soda Water

  5. Stir for 13 Seconds

  6. Garnish with a Lemon Twist

  7. Add a Straw



The Gin Sling is a modern rendition of an very old drink. The original Slings were made from sugar, water, nutmeg and a spirit. The name "Sling" actually comes from the German word Schlingen, meaning "To Swallow". The most famous Sling is the the Singapore Sling.
