Gin Sling
Ingredients
1.5 oz. | Gin |
1 oz. | Sweet Vermouth |
.5 oz. | |
.75 oz. | Lemon Juice |
2 Dashes | Aromatic Bitters |
| Soda Water |
Directions
Combine the Gin, Vermouth, Simple Syrup, Lemon Juice and Bitters in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice
Shake for 15 Seconds
Strain into a Sling or Collins Glass over Ice
Top with Soda Water
Stir for 13 Seconds
Garnish with a Lemon Twist
Add a Straw
The Gin Sling is a modern rendition of an very old drink. The original Slings were made from sugar, water, nutmeg and a spirit. The name "Sling" actually comes from the German word Schlingen, meaning "To Swallow". The most famous Sling is the the Singapore Sling.
