The Hemingway Special, or Hemingway Daiquiri, was invented in the 1930's the the El Floridita bar in Havana, Cuba. The story goes that the author, Ernest Hemingway, tried a Daiquiri at the bar and said he'd prefer it with no sugar and more Rum. The bartender named the drink the Papa Double. Over time the drink changed to include Grapefruit Juice and Maraschino Liqueur and was renamed the Hemingway Special, after the Author. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
