Old Fashioned
Ingredients
2 oz. | Bourbon (or Rye Whiskey) |
1 | Sugar Cube (or Teaspoon of Sugar) |
3 Dashes | Angostura Bitters |
1 Teaspoon | Water |
Directions
Place the Sugar Cube in a Rocks Glass and cover it in the Bitters
Muddle the Sugar Cube in the bottom of the Glass
Add the Water and Stir till Combined
Add Ice and the Whiskey and Stir till Combined
Express the Oils of a Orange Peel over the Top and then use the Peel as a Garnish
The Old Fashioned was among the first Cocktails. It is thought that the term Cocktail was actually first used in 1806 in reference to this drink. despite this, the drink didn't get its name until the 1880's because this was an old way of making Cocktails. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
