Bahama Mama

Ingredients

2.5 oz.

Orange Juice

1.5 oz.

Pineapple Juice

1.5 oz.

Dark Rum

1 oz.

Malibu (Coconut Rum Liqueur)

.25 oz.

Coffee Liqueur

.5 oz.

Lime Juice

.25 oz.

Grenadine

Directions

  1. Add the Alcohol and Fruit Juices to a Hurricane Glass

  2. Stir for 10 Seconds

  3. Add the Grenadine over the top and let sink to the bottom

  4. Slowly add Cracked Ice as to not mix the Grenadine too much

  5. Garnish with a Pineapple Wedge and a Maraschino Cherry

  6. Add a Straw

The Bahama Mama is a vacation drink that is very in line with the Hurricane and Piña Colada. The drink has had its recipe tweaked over the years and nobody quite makes it the same way. The original contains Coffee Liqueur, but many recipes omit it. It adds a different layer of taste to the drink, so I left it in.

The Midori Illusion was invented sometime within the 80's and 90's timeframe. It's original purpose was to be used for shooters, so if you want some green shots for St. Patty's Day or something, this is not a bad idea.
