The Suffering Bastard was supposedly invented in 1942 by Joe Scialom at the Shepard's Hotel in Cairo, Egypt. It was said to be made as a hangover cure for Soldiers during World War II. This is an Official IBA Cocktail. The Trader Vic's version of this drink has more of a Tiki Vibe with Rum and Orgeat and is served in a special Suffering Bastard Tiki Mug.
