Kamikaze

Ingredients

1.25 0z.

Vodka

1.25 oz.

Triple Sec

1.25 oz.

Lime Juice

Directions

  1. Combine all the Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice

  2. Shake for 15 Seconds

  3. Double Strain into a Cocktail Glass or Nick & Nora

  4. Garnish with a Lime Wedge



The Kamikaze was invented by American Soldiers Stationed in Japan in the 1970's. It's name means "Divine Wind" in Japanese and is obviously named after the Kamikaze Pilots of World War II. The drink can be, and is often, made in the form of a shot. The Cosmopolitan is a riff off this Cocktail.

Knickerbocker

Ingredients

2.5 oz.

​Gold Rum

.75 oz.

​Lime Juice

.75 oz.

2 Bar Spoons

​Curaçao (Orange Liqueur)

Directions

  1. Combine all the Ingredients into a Cocktail Shaker with Cracked Ice

  2. Shake for 15 Seconds

  3. Open Pour into a Rocks Glass

  4. Garnish with a Lime Wheel and Berries




The Knickerbocker's origins are a mystery. It used to be assumed that it was invented at the Knickerbocker Hotel in New York City, but the drink first appeared in the mid 1800's, and the Hotel was build in 1906. In the 1800's, the term "Knickerbocker" meant a New Yorker with Dutch ancestry, so it is still assumed that the drink was invented in New York.

Fruit Simple Syrups

Ingredients

2 Parts

Sugar

1 Part

Fruit

1 Part

Water

1 Splash

Vodka (Optional)

Directions

  1. Put the Sugar and Water in a Pot over Medium Heat

  2. Add the Fruit to the Pot

  3. Muddle the fruit to release the Juice

  4. Stir until it begins to boil

  5. Double Strain into a Glass Jar or Bottle

  6. Add the Vodka



Fruit Simple Syrups are used in a variety of Cocktails like the Clover Club or you can use them on your Waffles and Pancakes. You can use fresh or frozen fruit, but Fresh is always best. The splash of Vodka is used to help extend the Shelf Life.
