The Sea Breeze as gone through a number of different Recipes throughout it's life. The drink was a Prohibition Era Cocktail originally containing Gin and Grenadine. The recipe later grew to involve Cranberry Juice partially because of Ocean Spray. This Cocktail is closely related to the Bay Breeze, which substitutes the Cranberry Juice for Pineapple Juice, the Cape Codder (Vodka Cranberry), which lacks Grapefruit Juice, and the Greyhound and Salty Dog, which lack the Cranberry Juice. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

Tom Collins

2 oz.

Gin

1 oz.

Lemon Juice

.5 oz.

Soda Water

Directions

  1. Add Gin, Lemon Juice and Soda into a Collins Glass over Ice

  2. Top with Soda Water

  3. Stir for 13 Seconds

  4. Garnish with a Lemon Wheel and Maraschino Cherry

  5. Add a Straw

The Tom Collins is a Cocktail that dates back to the 1800's. It is believed, that the drink was originally called a John Collins, but became the Tom Collins because it was usually made with Old Tom Gin. Now the John Collins is this drink that substitutes the Gin for Whiskey. If you substitute the Gin for Vodka, it is a Vodka Collins. The Tom Collins also has the same ingredients as the Gin Fizz, the difference is the way it's prepared and served. The "Collins Glass" was named after this drink. This is an Official IBA Cocktail, but they call it a John Collins, which is odd because they call specifically for Old Tom Gin.
