Piña Coladas are one of the most iconic tropical drinks in part because of the song Escape (the Piña Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes. It is thought to have been invented in the 1950's by Ramon Marrero Perez in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The original recipe is a shaken drink instead of the blended drink that we all know and love today. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
