Brass Monkey

Ingredients

1 oz.

Dark Rum

1 oz.

Vodka

2 oz.

Orange Juice

Directions

  1. Combine the ingredients in a Rocks Glass over Ice

  2. Stir till Combined

  3. Garnish with an Orange Slice



The name Brass Monkey has been used as the name for a couple different cocktails. This recipe is the most commonly accepted "Bass Monkey," which is pretty much a Screwdriver with Dark Rum. Through the 70's, 80's and 90's this was sold as a pre-mixed cocktail by the Heublin Company. The drink inspired the song of the same name by the Beastie Boys.

Jack Rose

Ingredients

2 oz.

Applejack (Apple Brandy)

1 oz.

Lemon Juice

​.5 oz.

Grenadine

Directions

  1. Combine the Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice

  2. Shake for 15 Seconds

  3. Double Strain into a Coupe

  4. Garnish with a Lemon Twist



The Jack Rose was invented around the early 1900's somewhere in either New York or New Jersey. It probably gets its name from the fact that it's red like a rose and is made with Applejack.

Jungle Bird

Ingredients

1.5 oz.

Dark Rum

.75 oz.

Campari

1.5 oz.

Pineapple Juice

.5 oz.

Lime Juice

.5 oz.

Directions

  1. Combine the Ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice

  2. Shake for 15 Seconds

  3. Double Strain into a Rocks Glass over Ice

  4. Garnish with a Luxardo Cherry and Orange Wheel or Pineapple Wedge



The Jungle Bird was invented in Malaysia in the 1970's. The Tiki Drink didn't become popular around the world until the late 80's.
