Bee's Knees

Ingredients

2 oz.

Gin

.5 oz.

.75 oz.

Lemon Juice

Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a Cocktail Shaker with Ice

  2. Shake for 15 Seconds

  3. Double Strain into a Cocktail Glass or Nick & Nora

  4. Garnish with a Lemon Twist




The Bee's Knees was created in the 1920's and is thought to have been created by Frank Meier at the Hôtel Ritz Paris. The drink is essentially a Gin Sour that substitutes the Simple Syrup for Honey Syrup. There are other similar drinks such as the Honeysuckle that substitutes the Gin for White Rum, and the Honey Bee that substitutes the Gin for Dark Rum. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients

1

Sugar Cube (or .5 oz. Simple Syrup)

2 Dashes

Angostura Bitters (Aromatic Bitters)

.25 oz.

Brandy (Optional)

Chilled Champagne

Directions

  1. Place the Sugar Cube at the bottom of a Champagne Flute

  2. Cover the Sugar Cube with the Bitters

  3. Pour the Brandy into the Glass

  4. Top with Champagne

  5. Stir for 5 Seconds

  6. Garnish with a Lemon Twist



The Champagne Cocktail is an old drink from the 1800's. The original recipe didn't call for Brandy or a Garnish, but was later revised by Bartender Harry Johnson. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.

Lemon Drop Martini

Ingredients

2 oz.

.5 oz.

Triple Sec

.75 oz.

1 oz.

Lemon Juice

Directions

  1. Sugar the Rim of a Cocktail Glass

  2. Combine all the ingredients into a Cocktail Shaker with Ice

  3. Shake for 15 Seconds

  4. Double Strain into the Cocktail Glass



The Lemon Drop Martini was invented in the 1970's by Norman Jay Hobday at his bar Henry Africa's in San Fransisco, California. It was named after the candy of the same name. In the 1990's this became a popular shot. This is an Official IBA Cocktail.
